PAST EVENTS
The United Katehnuaka Longhouse has hosted an array of events. These events included talking circles, socials, luncheons, seminars, workshops and cultural events. Below you will find information about past events planned by our organization.

1.03.24 ~ Coharie Tribe Social | Iroquois New Year

The United Katehnuaka Longhouse held their first Longhouse social in conjunction with our relatives the Coharie Tribe who reside in Clinton North Carolina. It was a great time of interaction and fellowship with our kinship through singing and dancing. A feast was provided, before the event and everyone laughed, talked, visited with one another.

This event was for all ages of people. There was around 100-150 men, women and children in attendance.

Several different styles of Iroquois social dancing was conducted and everyone enjoyed it. We look forward to the next social we have with our brethren in the Coharie Community! Thank you to the Coharie tribe.
12.31.22~United Katehnuaka New Year's Eve Social

The United Katehnuaka Longhouse had their first New Years Eve social, and it was a major success. There was around 60-70 men, women & children in attendance. Plenty of food and drinks were served, including fry bread! Many gifts and prize money was also given out to the winners of each category. We look forward to sponsoring another social in our community soon.

This event was for all ages of people and contained nine different categories of dance; Men & Women's Smoke, Potato Dance, Hand Drum, Woodland, 2 Step, Women's Woodland, Best Dressed Singer, Best Ribbon Skirt, Children's Special.
